Functional nutrition gets to the ROOT of the issue. We use a holistic approach to treat chronic disease, with a focus on nutrition. Lead a healthier life — from the inside out. Functional medicine providers spend time listening to you and gathering your medical history. We use this information to identify the root cause(s) of the illness, including triggers such as poor nutrition, stress, toxins, allergens, genetics and your microbiome (the bacteria living in and on your body). Working with a functional nutritionist can provide several benefits.
Below are just a few key reasons why you may consider working with a functional nutritionist:
1. Personalized nutrition plan: A functional nutritionist can work with you to create a customized nutrition plan based on your individual needs, preferences, and health goals. They can help you identify nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, and other factors that may be impacting your health and develop strategies to address them. Functional nutrition is not just about eating healthy – it is about understanding that food is medicine and what your individual needs are.
2. Holistic approach to health: A functional nutritionist takes a whole-person approach to health, considering not only your diet but also your lifestyle, stress levels, and other factors that may be impacting your well-being. They can provide guidance on other lifestyle factors, such as sleep and exercise, to support your overall health and well-being.
3. Management of chronic conditions: A functional nutritionist can work with you to manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, or autoimmune disorders, through dietary changes and lifestyle modifications. They can also help you identify and address the root causes of your condition, rather than just treating symptoms.
4. Improved digestion and gut health: A functional nutritionist can help you improve your digestion and gut health through dietary changes and supplementation. They can also help you identify food sensitivities or intolerances that may be impacting your gut health and overall well-being.
5. Long-term health and wellness: A functional nutritionist can help you establish healthy habits and behaviors that can support your long-term health and wellness goals. They can provide ongoing support and guidance to help you stay on track and make sustainable changes.
